Calmando Qual, thank you very much for this interview

01: Please introduce Till-san to us. We know almost nothing about him.
Hibiki: He is a good guy and he understands the music of Calmando Qual. That makes him a very good support member.
Tak: I already knew him before he joined Calmando Qual, he is my old friend and I like him much as bassist. His main band is “LAB. THE BASEMENT”.
Maya: He is someone who supports various bands, and his thoughts are nice. He did study the band performance and management. However, it’s said by GIAN a character from Doraemon!!!

02: What has changed since Kenka-san left the band?
Hibiki: Our sound direction didn’t really change much, it’s not something which is either good or bad. We simply continue to make good work.
Tak: If you look at our music direction, it formed into a more pursue keenly dark rock. That energy shape became bigger when Till-san joined us.
Maya:  There are many merits (positive) with same members for a long period, but I think we have a tension in the good sense getting Till-san as a member. But, I’m up against a difficulty because everyone’s interest focus on me.”Yeow”! (laugh)

03: What means visual kei to you. Or don’t you call yourself visual kei?
Hibiki: It’s either fine. It’s up to the listener to judge about it. For myself I only keep to express Calmando Qual.
Tak: Well, it’s not a genre of music. Visual Kei was born in Japan, at that time the implications was different, also we don’t categorize ourselves.
Maya: I never thought about it. What is Calmando Qual? Maybe Nekura-kei?!

04.Not long ago you released the PV DVD “Vision in the darkness”. But, Why is the 「Anti Flag 」PV not included on the 「Vision in the Darkness 」DVD?
Hibiki: Because it’s not a PV, so it’s not because that it could be a potentially country misleading. *
Tak: The remove was the intention of… oh, it’s was the convenience of the editing. (laugh)
Maya: It also was original a secret track also because it was a live PV.

NOTE*Anti-Flag, video remembers you of (WII, NAZI”) it’s very look alike. 

05: Why did you decide to release a best album?
Hibiki: Because we hadn’t one yet (laugh)
Tak: because of the big member change.* Also because I and Hibiki are together for a milestone, 13 years already.
Maya:  Just lots of reasons.

06: How did you decide the tracklist of the best album?
Hibiki: I have choose the songs which introduce Calmando Qual more clearly.
Tak: It was selected by member and staff discussion.
Maya: By the guidance of God…

07: Is there something we need to know about the best album?
Hibiki: If you listen to our best album it brings you back in time. I will be glad if you will buy it. The best album will introduce you deeply to Calmando Qual in the way of reverse.
Tak: It’s not a best album at all. Calmando Qual best isn’t only those 26 songs, [FREAKS] can’t be completed without coming to our concert.
Maya: It gives a feeling of a history album. In fact, Paradox and Yugami are remixed recordings. If you listen to these songs you will hear the chance of the band, which is very interesting.

08: Calmando Qual has been around for 13 years now. Congratulations! Looking back, is there anything you would do differently? Are your proud of what you’ve accomplished so far?
Hibiki: To have made continue music without quitting, to have continued without leaving.
Tak: All the works which has been created with all members for such long time already, the oversea tours, the support of everyone.
Maya: Because of the support of all FREAKS and everyone It’s a pride that I’m able to continue, to create and play music for this band. Thank you very much

09: What’s your favorite Calmando Qual song?
Hibiki: CRY
Tak: I really like a lot of songs, but it’s fun to play “Nukegara” and “monochrome”.
Maya: when you talk about playing songs, in the past I liked the fast 8 beat songs but recently it feels good to play a 16 beat song.

10: Are there any songs which you would like to re-record? if yes, why that song?
Hibiki: I don’t have any! I want to create new songs.
Tak: I really would like to recreate Killer Fiction with the current line-up.
Maya: NegaxNegaxNega, Nukegara…

11: what is the process for making new songs?
Hibiki: To gain inspiration to create something which is unique, not similar to others and which doesn’t lose his feeling.
Tak: To have the inspiration and Jam sessions
Maya: To create a humming melody which came inside your mind and to introduce that to the band.

12: Tak-san, your blue comet guitar.
Tak: The buddy stay with for life.
Maya: I’ve heard he made his blue comet guitar from a machined cut wood in the nearby park… just joking(laugh)

13: What can we expect in the near future?
Hibiki: Please expect an expression of the darkness that continues changing.
Tak: I want to release a new album in 2015.
Maya: I think it’s our new release. I wanna disgorge the pre-existing my inner thoughts acquired through my life.

14: Please say something to your reader.
Hibiki: Please love us (laugh)
Tak: In 2015 I want to use the power which has been acquired this year to create an evolved creation. Yoroshiku!

01: 私たちにティルさんを紹介してください。我々は彼について何も知りません。
Hibiki:とてもいい奴で音楽的な部分もCalmando Qualを分かってくれていて良いサポートをしてくれています。
Tak:俺は彼とはCalmando Qual結成前からの付き合いで、凄く古い友人で好きなベーシストでした。今はLAB. THE BASEMENTというバンドをメインに活動しています。
MAYA:いろいろなバンドでサポートしていて 自分の考えをしっかり持っている人ですね。演奏面、バンドの運営面でも勉強させてもらっています。でも ドラえもんのキャラクターでいうとジャイアン！！

02: Kenkaさんがバンドを去ってから何が変わったのですか？
Hibiki:音や方向性はそれほど変わりませんが、どちらが良いとか悪いというものは無いですね。我々は良い作品を作り続けるだけです。
Tak:音楽的なところで言えば、より鋭くダークロックを追求する形になりましたね。その姿勢はティルの参加に寄る所も大きいです。
MAYA:長いこと同じメンバーでやってきてよい点はいっぱいありましたが ティルの参加でバンド内によい緊張感が生まれたと思います。しかし、いじられる対象が俺に集中して困っています。ぎゃーっ！笑

03: あなたからすると、V系は何を意味しますか。それとも、あなたはV系と呼びませんか？
Hibiki: 特にどちらでも良いです。それは評論家やオーディエンスが判断すれば良いかな 自分達はCalmando Qualを表現し続けるだけです。
Tak: まぁ、音楽のジャンルでは無いですよね。日本でビジュアル系というものが生まれた頃とはまるで意味合いも違うと思うし自分達をカテゴライズするつもりはありません。
MAYA: あまり考えたことはないなあ。クヴァールはなんだ？ネクラ系かな！？

04.少し前までは、あなたは、PVのDVD「暗闇の中でビジョン」をリリース。 でも、なぜ「Anti Flag 」PVが「Vision in the Darkness 」DVDに含まれていませんか？
Hibiki: それは単純に撮影をしていないのと、国によって誤解を招く事になりかねないからです。
Tak: 意図して抜いたというよりは……まぁ、編集上の都合でもあります（笑）
MAYA: もともとシークレットトラック扱いで収録されていたのとライブ映像のPVなので。

05: どうして、ベストアルバムをリリースすることを決定したのですか？
Hibiki: 出してないから 笑
Tak: 大きなメンバーチェンジもあり、自分がヒビキと出会って13年目という活動の節目として出すことになりました。
MAYA: いろいろあるんです。

06: どのようにしてベストアルバムのトラックリストを決めたのですか？
Hibiki: Calmando Qualをより分かりやすく伝えられる曲を選びました。
Tak: メンバー、スタッフでディスカッションして選曲しました。
MAYA: 神のお導きで…

07: 私たちはベストアルバムについて知っておくべきことはありますか？
Hibiki:ベストアルバムを聴いて気に入った時代の作品を購入してもらえたら嬉しいです。
逆にベストアルバムからCalmando Qualを深く知ってもらいたいね。
Tak: 決してベストアルバムではありません。
Calmando Qualのベストはこの26曲だけでは無いし、ライブに参加せずして「Freaks」が完成する事はありません。
MAYA: ヒストリーアルバムという感じですね。実はPARADOXと歪はミックスしなおして収録してあります。こうして並べて聞いてみるとバンドの変化がわかって面白い。

08: Calmando Qualはこれで13年になりました。おめでとう御座います！振り返ると、変わったことは何かありますか？ これまでで、あなたの達成した誇りに思っていることはなにですか。
Hibiki:音楽を作り続ける事を止めず、残し続けてきた事です。
Tak:ここまで長く同じ志でメンバーと共に作り上げた全ての作品、海外ツアー、そして応援してくれている皆様です。
MAYA:フリークスの皆様にずっと応援していただけて 音楽を続けてこれたことが誇りですね。 ありがとうございます。

09: お気に入りのCQ曲は何ですか？
Hibiki:クライ。
Tak: 沢山ありますが演奏していて楽しいのは「抜け殻」「モノクローム」とか。
MAYA: 曲というか 演奏していて 以前は早い8ビートが好きでしたが 最近は16ビートものが気持ちよいですね。

10: 再録音をしたいと思う曲はありますか？ もしある場合、それはどの曲ですか？
Hibiki: 特に無いかな！新しいものを作りたいです。
Tak:「Killer Fiction」を今のメンバーで再構築してみたい。
MAYA: ネガ、抜け殻、とか。

11: 新しい曲を作るためのプロセスは何ですか？
Hibiki:色を無くさず、誰かに似ず、唯一無二を作り出す事。
Tak:インスピレーションとジャムセッション
MAYA:思いついたら鼻歌録音からのデモ打ち込み。そしてバンドにもっていきアレンジ。

12: Takさん、あなたの青い彗星ギターについて。
Tak:一生を共にする相棒です。
MAYA:近所の公園の木を削りだして作ったとか 作らなかったとか…うそ笑

13: 我々は近い将来に何を期待できますか？
Hibiki:変わり続ける闇の表現を期待して下さい。
Tak:2015年にはまたニューアルバムを出したい。
MAYA:新作ですかね。日々生きてきて吸収してきたもの 以前から心の奥にあるものを ガンガン吐き出したいと思います。

14: 読者に何か一言お願いします。
Hibiki:愛を下さい 笑
Tak:2015年は今年に身につけた力をバンドとして更に進化させたものを創造していきたいと思います。宜しく!!
